Work from home - are you ready?
When you decide to quit your job and be a home worker, make sure that you do your home work, what to do, what to prepare, how long it takes, etc. It takes months or even years to do so. Be sure that you did all necessary preparation steps.
But the most important thing of becoming a home-worker is that you have to be ready with the changes, of almost every aspect of your life. So, always consider it very very carefully…
Mentality
Be ready. It always great when you don’t have to start your morning in hurry, but your family might expect more. Mommy’s home now, she can do this and that for me… bla bla… ooops… suddenly everybody in the house looks different.
Work plan
Good things about home-worker is that now you will have more time to spend with your kids. But you may find that sometime you just ‘forget’ to get back to work. You may even think, now that no longer bosses no one will tell you what to do, so you just do whatever you want, there is when you start loosing your focus.
So, try to manage your own time. Make your own schedule, your own targets, etc. Be sure that whatever plan you have made, whatever schedule you have planned, you just have to stick on it, don’t ever make any excuse for yourself for not doing it so.
Commitment
Well, now that no one tells you what to do, you have to make commitment with yourself because people tend to move slower when nobody is watching… sounds familiar?
Yes, no longer 9-5 working hours but if your commitment is to work 5 hours a day then you have to spend 5 hours a day to work. Maybe 2 hours in the morning, an hour in the afternoon and 2 hours at night. Or, if your commitment is to finish a task within 2 days then make it in no more than 2 days… that simple? Wait until you do it yourself.
No excuses
When mom stays at home, children tend to become spoiled and mom thinks it is okay because she’s home… well, no! never do that. Make your time schedule for the whole day and try to stick on it. You will have time to play with your kids, your husband, your friends and still have enough time to work!
It may hard at the beginning but after a while you will get used to it and everything become a lot more easier… you will even find free time for yourself… well, I do J
